Founded in 1987, the Woodford County Theatrical Arts Association (now doing business as Woodford Theatre) is a community theatre group whose mission is to produce the best quality theatre we can. In our effort to make the arts accessible to everyone, we involve volunteers in all aspects of our theatrical productions, providing guidance every step of the way with our professionally trained staff. Our intention is to cultivate, not only an appreciation of live theatre for our audiences, but also valuable and employable skills for our participants.

We produce subscription seasons of four to five productions with opportunities for all ages and backgrounds, both on stage and behind the scenes. Though our participants may be amateurs, the structure of our business and of our productions follows a professional model, utilizing an experienced and professionally trained staff to educate interested citizens in the pursuit of excellence in theatre. We are dedicated to lifelong learning in the arts for all ages, offering summer education programming in acting, theatre production, dance and music. In addition, we are committed to providing resources for the theatrical endeavors of other groups, lending costumes, props, sets and expertise whenever possible. It is our goal to be identified as the best community theatre in the country.
