ANNOUNCING AUDITIONS FOR WOODFORD THEATRE YOUNG ARTISTS 2019.2020
All spots are open, prior year members must audition. There are 36 available spots. You may submit a video audition if you are not able to make the live auditions but please keep in mind that a live audition is always better. Ages 10-18.

YOU WILL MARK ON YOUR AUDITION FORM WHAT YOUR AUDITIONING FOR 13: THE MUSICAL, JUNIE B. JONES JR. AND/ OR THE WOODFORD THEATRE YOUNG ARTISTS
Prepare: a 16-32 bar song selection preferably with marked sheet music. Be prepared to dance and read from the scripts for 13: The Musical, Junie B. Jones, or another script. Submit a photo and resume with your auditions form.
** Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out your forms. Plan to stay the entire time, however, you may be released early.
Wear: Make sure to bring clothes you can move in and dance shoes if you have them.
Registration: No pre-registration is required for the Summer Production Academy or Woodford Theatre Young Artists. Arrive at to your chosen audition time. If cast, we will communicate with you about registration with you via email.
Video Submissions: Although a LIVE audition is always preferred, we understand how busy life can be. If your Young Artist hopeful wishes to audition, but is unable to make either of the audition dates, please follow these video instructions:
- 16-32 bar musical theatre selection. Please make sure that you are storytelling and not just singing.
- Read the side from Frozen Jr. with someone off camera. You may choose which character Anna or Olaf. Look at the camera as if they were the character. Start the reading at OLAF’s line “who’s the reindeer” and end at OLAF’s line “Yeah, Why?”
- OPTIONAL- you may submit a 60 second monologue or dance piece, but you are not required.
- Please make sure to introduce yourself clearly and what your song selection is.
Woodford Theatre Young Artists (WTYA) are a selected ensemble of musical theatre students exposed to professional and intensive training, performance opportunities and growth experiences, designed to strengthen their talents and prepare them for pursuing musical theatre or theatre in college and professionally.
