Daniel Ellis
Artistic Director
Daniel has lived and worked in Lexington, Kentucky for the last decade. He graduated from Longwood University (located in central VA) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a self-guided concentration in directing. Following graduation, he moved to Lexington as a contracted performer with the Lexington Children’s Theatre (LCT). While at LCT, Daniel filled many roles including: resident performance intern, directing associate, sales associate, and tour manager. In 2018, Daniel received his Master of Arts in Teaching from Eastern Kentucky University.
Daniel has worked with many theatre companies in the central Kentucky region including: Woodford Theatre (The 39 Steps, Shakespeare in Love, Peter and the Starcatcher); The Lexington Children’s Theatre (Directing Associate, Sales Associate/Tour Manager); AthensWest (33 Variations); Studio Players (StopKiss); DISTILLED Theatre Company (Tomorrow Starts Tonight); Blackbird Dance Theatre (Titus / Romeo & Juliet); The Appalachian Shakespeare Center (Midsummer Night’s Drink); ActOut Theatre Company (The Normal Heart) & the Studio 46 Documentary On The Line: The Davis H. Elliot Story.
For the past five years Daniel served as a multi-level theatre instructor for Tates Creek High School. Two of his productions (James and the Giant Peach & The Trojan Women) went on to compete at the national theatre conference level (SETC).
